Designed and built for the core performance enthusiast, the 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8® Super Bee makes its public debut at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show on Nov. 9.

“The 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee is a salute to the fun-loving past of Dodge muscle cars powered by the legendary 392 HEMI® V-8 in a back-to-basics performance machine,” Ralph Gilles, President and CEO – SRT and Motorsports said.

Exclusive Super Bee Content Inside and Out

The race-inspired interior of the 2012 Charger SRT8 Super Bee features the SRT exclusive three-spoke contoured performance steering wheel, exclusive Z-stripe cloth performance seats with
amped yellow and silver striping in both the front and rear as well as silver accent stitching and embroidered Super Bee logos on each of the front seat headrests.

The instrument panel also features the Charger Super Bee logo on a unique dash plaque.
Newly modified software includes the appearance of the Super Bee logo in the center instrument panel’s Electronic Vehicle Information Center at vehicle start up.

On the exterior, the Charger Super Bee features a unique SRT badge with a 3-D helmeted bee mascot on the new split crosshair grille finished in Gloss Black.

Satin black hood graphics mirror the black decklid stripes with a solid wide center line flanked by solid dual tracer lines on the Stinger Yellow model, while charcoal gray graphics are used on the hood and decklid of the Pitch Black model. Standard rear decklid spoilers are matte black on the Stinger Yellow model or matching body color on the Pitch Black model.

Both front fenders tout the historically significant V-8 engine with “392 HEMI” badges first seen on the 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392. Flanking both rear fenders are the legendary round Super Bee graphics, which now include the wording “Powered by SRT” to commemorate the modern incarnation of this celebrated performance icon.

New 20 x 9-inch, five-spoke cast-aluminum wheels with black painted pockets developed specifically for the Super Bee models provide a unique performance look.

Available Goodyear F1 Supercar three-season, ultra high performance tires give the Super Bee tenacious grip on the road or track. Also available are Goodyear Eagle RS-A 2 all-season tires that make the 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee an all-season performance machine.

Braking power for the Super Bee comes courtesy of SRT engineered Brembo brakes with vented and slotted rotors with four-piston Brembo calipers painted anodized black.

A limited number of 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee units will be built for the U.S. market. All Dodge Charger models are built at the Brampton Assembly plant in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

Both Stinger Yellow and Pitch Black Super Bee models will be available for ordering in December at Dodge dealerships nationwide and will be arriving in U.S. dealer showrooms in the first quarter of 2012.

SpeedFactory Cars is fresh off the flight from Las Vegas, NV. The main purpose of the trip to the SEMA convention was to see what Mopar had up their sleeves. Here is a quick recap of what we found;

590 HP Alminum block 426

426 Gen III High Out HEMI and 426 Ready-to-Run Kits
Mopar also is featuring a more powerful, new crate version of the Gen III 426 HEMI V-8.

The Gen III High Output HEMI engine, with 590 horsepower on tap out of the box, is now available under part number P5156139.

Starting with a lightweight aluminum block that shaves more than 100 lbs. from the cast iron version, the Gen III High Output HEMI is professionally built and includes a stout, balanced lower reciprocating assembly that features a forged steel crankshaft with six bolt mains at 2, 3 and 4, and cross-bolted 4-bolt mains at 1 and 5. H-beam style rods are forged steel and coupled to forged 11:1 compression ratio aluminum pistons. Included is a revised windage tray to provide excellent oil dispersion and prevent oil aeration by the crankshaft.

The valvetrain starts with a more aggressive roller camshaft with .639 intake and .628 exhaust lift and cylinder heads that feature the latest designs for exceptional flow characteristics.

To help stabilize the valvetrain at high engine rpm, tie bars are available. Cast aluminum valve covers and billet fuel rails also are part of the Gen III High Output engine. Designed to run on premium pump gas with a minimum octane rating of 93, the newest HEMI V8 is ideal for off road competition or the latest restoration or resto – mod project.

Mopar also is offering two 426 Ready-to-Run engine control/base calibration kits, one for the High Output engine and one for the existing 426 crate engine.

Kits include a throttle body, engine harness and engine controller with base cal. These kits greatly reduce guess work and gets projects up and rolling. Depending on transmission type, axle ratio, and tire size, some final tuning may be required.

If you know SpeedFactory Cars, this will be the next power plant to bring one of our beasts alive.

Last month, our friends at Landmark Dodge and SpeedFactory came all the way from Georgia to hang out with the LX enthusiasts at Spring Fest 6 event in Irvine, California. In their display was their newest weapon of mass destruction to come out their Atlanta arsenal of modified late-model muscle cars. The 2010 Challenger SF500 (‘500’ designates either the horsepower or torque output of the specific model) SpeedFactory’s “entry level” model for customer’s looking to venture into the Supercharged dimension of boost and all the greatness it offers under one’s right foot. If 500 horsepower 5.7L HEMI® is considered entry level, then sign us up. Here their proven formula for success continues by offering enthusiasts fully warranty turn-key super cars. The team at Speed Factory doesn’t get sideways by tacking on aftermarket body kits that add extra pounds and drives up the cost of the vehicle. Instead their focus is on power train and suspension enhancements that will shock and awe their owners with a double barrel shot of adrenaline aimed straight at their brain.

The SF500 begins its transformation to a giant killer once it arrives at the dealership. The engine is basically left stock as to keep the sticker price down and not impact the factory warranty. The Vortech Centrifugal Supercharger is the primary power adder that takes the stock 5.7L from 372 horses to over 500. The magic is in the specially calibrated tune that Vortech engineers and SpeedFactory have collaborated on. What’s just as sweet, the package is CARB approved and certified so it’s compliant in all 50 states and carries a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty through SpeedFactory.

This one of ten built SF600R Challenger has been on the December 2009 cover of Motor Trend. The SF600 has all the speed you need with the comfort you DESERVE. Own a piece of history and what Mopar Collectors Guide called “one hell of a car for the money”. The SF600 is equipped with a 6.1L HEMI that has been supercharged with a Vortech V3 system, SpeedFactory suspension package with race inspired springs and sway bars, and a Magnaflow exhaust system to harness all that power. Other modifications include, completely re-done leather seating surfaces with SpeedFactory logos and alcantara inserts and BBS CH-R wheels wrapped in Michelin PS2 tires.
