NMCA Racing Recap

Friday afternoon was the first of the test and tune sessions. We were caught in the dilemma of a fresh, untamed engine in the car and a track that couldn’t hold what it had to offer. The Charger laid down several 10.30 passes and a 11.20 after spinning through half of the gears.

Saturday morning would see one more test and tune session, with our best pass standing at 10.35. The qualifying pass for Sunday eliminations went down Saturday afternoon at 10.38. This wouldn’t be the best pass of the weekend, but would net us the Worlds Fastest Charger award.

Sunday morning was the first elimination pass. During that pass we lost to ATI’s drag pak Challenger. But there was more to come! Having earned the “Worlds Fastest Charger” award, we went up against Doug Duell’s “Worlds Fastest Challenger”. This was for all the cards – to see who had the fastest Hemi on the property.

Unfortunately, Doug beat us off of the tree with a holeshot. At the end of the run Doug’s Challenger beat us to the line with a 10.02 ET to our 9.97 ET.

The racing season is just getting started!
